Player of the Month
The Owen Sound Attack has named Mike Lomas the Attack Player of the Month for March.
The Attack finished the regular season with 7 home games, before meeting the Windsor Spitfires for 4 post season matches. In those 11 games this past month, the Burlington native recorded 6 goals and 4 assists for 10 points. The third year centre finished the final 7 games of the regular season with 3 goals, 3 assists and contributed 3 goals and 1 assist in the post season. Lomas was named Player of the Week for the week of March 16th through the 22nd and finished second in team scoring for both the regular season and the Playoffs. This is Mike's third Player of the Month win with back to back nods in November and December.
Defenseman of the Month
The Owen Sound Attack has named veteran, Michael D'Orazio, the Attack Defenseman of the Month for March.
In 11 games played, D'Orazio recorded 5 assists and a -4 plus/minus rating. The Richmond Hill, ON native recorded 3 of those assists to finish his third regular season in the OHL and 2 during 4 games of post season play vs the OHL leading Windsor Spitfires. Michael finished the year with 18 assists.
Goaltender of the Month
The Owen Sound Attack has named rookie goaltender, Scott Stajcer, the Attack Goaltender of the Month for March.
The Cambridge, ON native played in 8 games through out the month of March splitting those games equally to finish the regular season and the post season versus the league's best Windsor Spitfires. In those 8 games, Stajcer turned aside 317 of 349 shots for a 4.65 Goals against average and .908 save percentage. In three starts of the 4 game post season, Stajcer faced 50 + shots a game including 71 during game #2 held in Owen Sound. This is Stajcer's fourth nod this season with past honours for November, December and January. Stajcer finishes his rookie campaign with 39 games played with a 3.77 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
Rookie of the Month
Forward Garrett Wilson is the Attack Rookie of the Month for March.
To conclude the regular season, Wilson scored 4 goals and added 1 assist in 7 games and continued those points with 1 goal and 3 assists in 4 post season games versus the Spitfires. This is the second rookie honour this season for the Elmvale, ON native who also was named the Attacker of the Week for the week of March 9 through 15th. Wilson finished his rookie campaign with a total 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in 57 games played.
