Marcel-Robert Trophy Finalists Revealed

BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - The five finalists for the Marcel-Robert Trophy, which is awarded to the TELUS Scholastic Player of the Year at the Golden Puck Awards Gala, were announced today.

Each candidate must now go through an arduous interview process which will measure their analytical skills and their understanding of current events. Their performance during the interview will also play a key role.

The interviews will be held in Montreal, on Monday, March 1 and will be conducted by the members of the Marcel-Robert Committee. This year's committee members are: Sébastien Fyfe, the Director of Alliance Sport-Études; Marie-Linda Lord, a teacher at Moncton University who also holds the Chair in Acadian Studies; Éric L'Italien, a former QMJHL player and recipient of the Marcel-Robert Trophy; Yves Boisvert, a columnist for La Presse; and Benoît Larose, a former QMJHL player and the Senior Manager of Sport Marketing for Reebok.

The TELUS Scholastic Player of the Year will be awarded the Trophy as well as an additional $500 bursary.

The five finalists are:

Chicoutimi Saguenéens - Dominic Jalbert

Drummondville Voltigeurs - Marc-Olivier Vachon

Halifax Mooseheads - Pascal Amyot

Montreal Juniors - Vincent Bourgeois

Victoriaville Tigres - Joël Chouinard
