Bradenton Marauders News Release

Bradenton, Fla. - The Marauders (34-29) and the Mighty Mussels (32-31) met for the final game of a six-game series at LECOM Park on a perfect Sunday for Father's Day baseball in the friendly city. The Marauders counted on timely home run hitting for the third night in a row to lift them to a 4-3 win.

The game saw little action offensively in the first inning with Marauder starter Dominic Perachi on the mound. The right finished his day after 4.1 IP and did not earn a decision for his efforts.

Fort Myers' bats came alive in the top half of the second inning when Yohander Martinez homered with a man on to give the Mussels an early 2-0 lead.

The Young Bucs responded in the home half of the second when Luis Hernandez singled on a flare to right to bring Nick Cimillo into score, cutting the deficit down to 2-1.

The bottom of the third saw Bradenton take a lead that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest. Termarr Johnson led off the inning and hit a solo home run to tie the game 2-2 just a few pitches into the inning.

Shalin Polanco and Rodolfo Nolasco reached base with no outs following Johnson's homer, giving Nick Cimillo a no-out RBI opportunity. The Bradenton first baseman drilled a ball into the left centerfield gap to bring Polanco around to give the good guys a 3-2 lead.

Enmanuel Terrero added to the run total for the Young Bucs in the fourth inning when he hit a home run to lead off the inning, his fourth of the season, extending the lead to 4-2.

Ft. Myers grabbed one back in the top of the fifth, but it would not be enough to overcome the solid bullpen effort of Julian Bosnic as the Marauders rode their one-run lead to victory by a final score of 4-3.

On Tuesday, the Marauders head back on the road for the first time in two weeks to begin a six-game series at Lakeland.
