
Marauders Pummel Mets to Secure Series Win

Port Saint Lucie, Fla.--- The Marauders (20-9, 55-39) and the St. Lucie Mets (9-20, 33-61) met for the fifth game of a six-game series at Clover Park on a wet and humid Saturday night on 31 Piazza Drive. The Marauders sprayed the ball around the park as they recorded 13 hits on the way to a 10-3 triumph.
Marauders hurler Dominic Perachi tossed 6.1 innings and gave up just one earned run on five hits while dealing a single-game ball club high ten strikeouts. Perachi picked up his fourth win of the season and boasts a perfect 4-0 record.
The Mets snatched a lead in the home half of the first when Dyron Campos crushed a three-run blast to left centerfield to put Saint Lucie up 3-0.
The Marauders answered by scoring a pair of runs in the top of the second thanks to back-to-back two-out RBI singles from Malcom Nunez and Nick Cimillo to make it a one-run game.
The Young Bucs took the lead in the top of the third and never looked back; Geovanny Planchart doubled with two away to bring Devis Nadal around to score all the way from first before Mitch Jebb dropped a liner into the gap to allow Planchart to ease home making it 4-3 in favor of Bradenton.
Nick Cimillo led off the top of the fifth with a dead centerfield blast to double the Marauders' lead. Camillo would end the night 3-5 at the plate, a triple shy of the cycle with four RBI to his name.
Bradenton put the game to bed in the top of the sixth when Cimillo doubled to score a pair before Lonnie White Jr. drove a two-run shot to left, handing the Marauders a hearty 9-3 advantage going into the later innings.
The Marauders final run of the night came in the seventh off the bat of 2nd round pick Mitch Jebb. The Michigan State product finished the night 4-6 at the dish with a double and two RBI. Jebb has posted a .571 batting average through his first three games as a professional.
Sergio Umana breezed through the eighth and ninth on the mound for Bradenton. He sealed the deal with a fly-out to center, confirming the emphatic 10-3 win for the Marauders.
The series finale is set for 12:10 p.m. on Sunday, with red-hot right-hander Wilber Dotel expected to start for the Young Bucs.
