Chilliwack Bruins News Release

The Chilliwack Bruins announced today that defenceman Brandon Manning has signed a three year entry level contract with the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers. After going undrafted in last summer's NHL Entry Draft, Manning, who currently leads all WHL defencemen in scoring with 26 points, was free to sign with the NHL team of his choice.

In 167 career games with the Bruins, the native of Prince George BC has scored 34 goals and 75 assists. He has served as the Bruins Captain since January 10th, 2010.

"I'd like to thank the Bruins organization for providing me the opportunity to play and learn what it takes to make it to the next level," said Manning who joined the Bruins late in the 2007-08 season. "It's an exciting day for me and my family and it's nice to get the contract situation out of the way."

Next action for Manning and the Bruins is Wednesday night when they host the Prince George Cougars.
