Brevard County Manatees News Release

Well ladies, gentlemen, and kids of all ages. Baseball season is again upon us and the Brevard County Manatees are back in town to defend their FSL Eastern Division crown. For a glimpse at one of the most stacked rosters in baseball log onto www.manateesbaseball.com

Thursday night, the Manatees open up the 2008 campaign in Daytona for a 7:05 tilt. The "Roadside Trophy" will be riding shotgun in my '94 Saturn and for safety the passenger airbag will be disengaged. Those of you interested in making the trip feel free to email me (ksmith@spacecoaststadium.com) and I'll try to set up a caravan. The 'Tees will complete the sweep of the Cubbies at the same time, same place on Friday night.

On Saturday the 5th, the Palm Beach Cards check into Brevard for the Manatees home opener. Game time is 7:00pm and get here early to get your 2008 magnet schedule courtesy of Via Tuscany Apartments in Suntree. The series continues with a 1:00pm matinee on Sunday and a 7:00pm Monday start.

As the season is nearly less than 24 hours away, I'm reminded of a couple things that I've forgotten:

1) All the hard work that's put into what you do is worth it if it means the world to someone else. During the FIT game last evening (after the tarp pull), I took a moment to watch some of the fans here taking in some exhibition baseball. I got a chance to see many people that I hadn't seen since the final out last year and I realized that for the next 5 months they're at peace because they have baseball back in their lives.

2) The phrase "Rock On" can be used as a salutation at any point in a conversation.

For those of you that I haven't met, please feel free to take a moment introduce yourself when you're at the yard. Here's to another great season of Manatees baseball.
