Manager Mike Church Returns For \'06

New Haven County Cutters News Release


West Haven- The New Haven County Cutters are excited to announced the rehire of Manager Mike Church for the 2006 season. Church a Berlin, CT native and resident led the Cutters to a 46-46 record, which included the Cutters first ever post season appearance.

Church played a pivotal role with the Cutters who were south division second half champions. Mike's dedication and leadership helped the Cutters turn an 11-28 first half record to a 28-11 second half championship. The Central Connecticut State University graduate has been very active in the community and also owns Diamond Kings Baseball Academy in Bristol, CT.

"I am very excited to be back for the 2006 season, I want to build off the success of the second half of last season. We hope to get the core of players back from last season, they seemed to gel at the right time and a teams chemistry is such an important part of the game. It is my goal and the goal of the entire organization to bring a championship home to all of our fans in 06."

The Cutters kick off the 2006 season on May 25th as they travel to take on the Brockton Rox. The Cutters will play their home opener on May 29th against 2005 Champion, Worcester Tornados.
