Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - For the past several years, the Colorado Mammoth has helped raise funds and cancer awareness in hopes of one day putting an end to the disease. On 'Lacrosse Out Cancer' Night at Pepsi Center on April 14, the team will debut and wear 'I'm Playing For' helmets that don the names of Mammoth fans' loved ones whose lives have been effected by cancer.

"'Lacrosse Out Cancer' Night is consistently one of the highlights of the year for our organization," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "The 'I'm Playing For' campaign should make this year's event even more touching and unique."

The team will wear white helmets with personalized pink HeadWrapz (http://HeadWrapz.com/) decals. Each player's helmet will feature a unique name of that of a cancer patient, survivor, or one who lost their battle. Although the decals are pink, a color synonymous with breast cancer, they feature a lavender ribbon, a symbol of general cancer awareness.

"The helmets have a certain 'wow' factor, and the lavender ribbon represents our commitment to raising funds and awareness for all forms of cancer," said Govett.

The Mammoth helmet auction is now live online on eBay. Search for the keywords 'Lacrosse Out Cancer' to view and bid on the helmets. Bidding ends this Wednesday morning, April 4. Following the game, each winning bidder will be presented with the hand-signed helmet in a special 'Helmets Off Our Heads' on-field presentation by the player himself.

Tickets to 'Lacrosse Out Cancer' Night as the Mammoth takes on the defending champion Toronto Rock on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center are on sale now at the Pepsi Center box office, all Colorado Dick's Sporting Goods retail kiosks, online at TicketHorse.com, or by calling 303.53.HORSE. Game-time is 7pm MT.
