Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - With the 2016 season just two weeks away, the Colorado Mammoth submitted its 20-man Active Roster to the league on Friday morning. Back are John Grant, Jr. and Adam Jones. So are Joey Cupido, Dan Coates and Cam Holding, among others. Forward Callum Crawford, the top free agent on the market this past off-season, displayed in training camp how much he'll bring to the offense.
Colorado didn't own a selection in the 2015 NLL Entry Draft until the fourth round. But the research and scouting the front-office did for months leading up to the Draft paid off, with fourth-rounder Bryce Sweeting and sixth-rounder Jordan Gilles (both defensemen) making the squad.
The other new defensemen include Team USA's Greg Downing and the return of Ilija Gajic, along with the welcoming of Josh Sullivan. Forward Chris Wardle played four games with the Vancouver Stealth in 2014.
"We have a very strong core group of players who have been getting better and better each season, and this year will be no exception," said Dan Carey, director of player personnel for the Mammoth. "We feel our new additions will complement our returners to create a deeper and more dynamic team than last season."
Jeremy Noble, Eli McLaughlin, Robert Hope and Alex Buque - the Mammoth foursome who established a new NLL record for teammates on the league's All-Rookie Team in September - are back for their sophomore seasons.
Colorado signed forward Jamie Lincoln and defensemen Mike Woods and Conrad Chapman to the Practice Player List. Forward Cam Flint has been moved to the Physically Unable to Perform List. Defenseman Tyler Codron is on Injured Reserve.
The Mammoth opens the season on Friday, Jan. 1 on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center at 7:30pm MT against the Georgia Swarm. Single-game tickets are on sale now.
