Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - Goaltender Chris Levis re-signed with the Colorado Mammoth on Wednesday, agreeing to a one-year contract with the National Lacrosse League champions.
Levis, 30, joined the Mammoth prior to the 2006 season after a three-year hiatus from the NLL. He appeared in 10 games, primarily in relief of starter Gee Nash, and set career highs with four victories, an 11.47 goals-against average and a .788 save percentage. He also relieved Nash in the Mammoth's West Division semifinal win over Calgary to earn a victory in his first career postseason appearance.
"Chris was huge for us last season," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "The team has great confidence in him and we're excited to have his solid goaltending back for another season."
Levis, a native of Windsor, Ontario, lives in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and runs Studeo 55, a fitness club in Vancouver.
Draft choices sign
The Mammoth has signed four more of its 2006 draft choices. Forwards Gary Bining (first round, 13th overall), Jamie Shewchuk (second round, 25th) and Matt Poskay (third round, 34th), and defenseman Casey Cittadino (fifth round, 64th) have all agreed to one-year contracts.
