Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team has released forwards Chris Gill, Gary Rosyski and Tyler Crompton, as well as defenseman Bryan Safarik. The moves reduced the team's training camp roster to 28 players.
Gill and Rosyski have played a combined 23 seasons in the National Lacrosse League, while Crompton and Safarik were NLL rookies this past season.
"It's always tough to have to say goodbye to players for whom I have the utmost respect," said Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. "It's bittersweet any time you have to let players go, but it shows just how competitive the Mammoth camp is this year."
Gill first played for Colorado in 2006, when the team won the Champion's Cup. He split time in 2008 between the Edmonton Rush and the Mammoth. After nine years with the Stealth franchise (previously the Albany Attack), the 2009 season was Rosyski's first with Colorado.
The Mammoth has until December 23 to trim its roster to the final 23 players.
Colorado hosts Minnesota at Pepsi Center on Friday, December 18 in preseason action. The Mammoth opens the 2010 regular season on the road against the Washington Stealth on January 9. The home-opener is one week later as Colorado hosts the Edmonton Rush at Pepsi Center on Saturday, January 16. 2010 Mammoth season tickets are on-sale now. Single game tickets for the Mammoth go on sale Friday, December 18.
