Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced on Thursday that the team has removed the "Ëinterim' title from its coaching trio and signed Pat Coyle, Chris Gill and Dan Stroup to two-year contracts. The former Mammoth players were hired in early-March and led the team to a winning record and a postseason berth.
"Pat, Chris and Dan did a phenomenal job down the stretch this past season, and got buy-in from players and the front office," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "I'm excited for the future, and confident the coaches will take this team to new heights."
The coaches, who will collectively share a title without an official head coach being named, have won a combined 13 NLL championships.
Coyle recently won induction into the NLL Hall of Fame, becoming the first defenseman to receive the honor.
"I'm humbled by the contract extension from Steve and the Mammoth organization, and feel very honored and privileged to be inducted into the NLL Hall of Fame," said Coyle. "I am very proud of my lacrosse playing career, and this honor is the cherry on top!"
