Mammoth Announces Casey Powell Team Camp

The Colorado Mammoth announced today that it will host a team camp in St. Charles, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis, with forward Casey Powell serving as the lead instructor. The camp, which is open to seven- to 18-year-old boys and girls of all skill levels, will take place at the St. Charles Soccer Complex Park from June 19-21, 2013.

"Lacrosse in greater St. Louis is experiencing a tremendous amount of growth," said Powell. "I'm excited to bring my training program to the area and share my knowledge with the lacrosse community. I've invited some of the most passionate and successful lacrosse minds in the game, and anticipate this to be the top lacrosse experience in Missouri."

Powell, the only American in the history of the National Lacrosse League to be named the league's Most Valuable Player, will be joined by other professional lacrosse players and national team members. The camp delivers the most up-to-date training techniques and concepts in a high-energy atmosphere designed to enhance players' skills.

"Casey is an ambassador of the sport and has an innate ability to teach the game to players of all ages and skill levels," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "Players who attend will improve!"

Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley will lead a Coaches Curriculum at the camp. He will share techniques and strategies that will make individuals into better coaches, motivators and talent-evaluators.

Teams attending the camp are encouraged to participate in the Dick's Sporting Goods Midwest Cup lacrosse tournament, an NDP Lacrosse event, on June 22-23. Powell will serve as a guest-coach for select teams during the tournament.

Powell and the Mammoth take on the Calgary Roughnecks at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary in the West Division Semifinal this Saturday, April 27, at 7:00pm MT.
