Mallards Unveil Exhibition Schedule

Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards today announced the team's exhibition schedule for the 2006-07 pre-season. The team will begin the new campaign with an exhibition game in Rockford on Friday, October 6th at 7:30 p.m. followed by a home date vs. the Chicago Hounds on Saturday, October 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Quad City Sports Center.
Full season ticket holders will be able to pick up complimentary tickets (one ticket per season ticket purchased) to the home exhibition game at the Mallards Nest Team Store beginning Monday, September 11th and lasting until Friday, September 29th. Tickets will go on sale for $5 to the public beginning Monday, October 2nd at The Mallards Nest. The remaining tickets will be sold on a walk-up basis on October 7th at the Quad City Sports Center.
The exhibition season opener in Rockford reunites the Mallards with their most fierce rivals. Last season the teams combined for 754 penalty minutes in 13 meetings. After starting the season series with three straight losses, the Mallards rebounded to win five of their final 10 meetings with Rockford. The game on October 6th will be played at the Rockford Metrocentre. Tickets go on sale on Monday, September 25th at 9 a.m. and are available via phone (815-968-5222). Tickets are $7 and children seven years of age or younger will be allowed in for free.
The Mallards host Chicago on October 7th at the Quad City Sports Center. The match-up marks the second consecutive year that the Mallards have hosted an exhibition game at their practice rink. It is also the first time that the Hounds will be on the ice for a game.
"We're very excited to return to the Sports Center," said Mallards President Tim Taylor. "It's a great atmosphere to watch and participate in a hockey game."
