St. Charles Chill News Release
St. Charles, Mo. - A tightly contested game got out of hand in the third period as Quad City netted four goals in the frame and kept the Chill off the scoreboard for a 5-0 win.
The Chill (8-21-4) outshot Quad City in the first and third periods but could not cash in on a variety a chances. The Chill crashed the net, creating plenty of chance on rebounds and tap-ins that just seemed to bounce over sticks or slide just out of reach. The Mallard's Thomas Heemskerk made some great stops in traffic throughout the night to help his defense and make it a tough go for St. Charles.
After skating to a scoreless first period Quad City (16-7-5) took a 1-0 lead at the 6:27 mark of the second on the first of two goals from Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel. It would remain a one goal game until the third.
Nick Grasso stretched the Mallard lead to 2-0 in the first three minutes of the third and Dieude-Fauvel added to it just over four minutes later. Quad City would add two goals within a minute of each other late in the third period to close with the 5-0 win.
The Chill will host the Brampton Beast on Sunday at 4:05. Fans can call the Chill office at 636.724.SHOT to take advantage of Pepsi Family 4-Packs for just $60 and the game will feature hat trick beers.
