DAYTON, Ohio (February 13, 2011)- Jake Riddle scored twice as the Quad City Mallards ripped off four third period goals on the way to a 5-3 come-from-behind win over the host Dayton Gems Sunday.

Riddle tied the game at two and kick-started the Quad City comeback with a drive that broke in off Gems goaltender Derek McIntyre at 9:36 of the third period. At 11:22 Obi Aduda gave the Mallards a 3-2 lead with a fine individual effort. Zach Pearson scored what would prove to be the game winner from the slot at the 14:11 mark. Just a minute and fifteen seconds later the Gems narrowed the gap to 4-3 when Kyle Bocheck deflected home his second power play goal of the game, but the Mallards would need only 34 seconds to reestablish the two-goal lead. Riddle struck from between the circles with exactly four minutes remaining to make it 5-3.

The Mallards found themselves in need of a rally after the Gems struck twice in the second period to erase a 1-0 Quad City advantage and grab the lead themselves. Brett Lutes redirected the equalizer home at 4:20 of the second. At 18:07, the Gems were up two men when Bochek pounced on a rebound to put Dayton on top 2-1.

The Mallards had opened the scoring with a 5-on-3 goal of their own when Tyler Shelast tipped in Tyler Kindle's shot at 12:57 of the first period.

The Mallards return to action against the Gems Thursday night in Dayton.
