ALLEN, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (19-24-5) earned what is arguably their most impressive victory of the season beating the Allen Americans (34-9-1) by a 4-1 score on Sunday afternoon. The Bees increased their lead to two goals before the end of the period scoring with only 16.3 seconds remaining in the period. Bo Cheesman and Aaron Lee came in two-on-one and Cheeseman slid the puck across to Lee who one touched it past Adrien LeMay to give the Bees the two goal lead heading into the locker room.
In the second period the Bees continued to put the pressure on creating a second pair of goals. The first goal of the second game came at 7:30 as Bo Cheesman ripped a top-corner shot from inside the faceoff circle. Zak McClellan and Aaron Lee had cycled the puck to create the space for Cheesman.
Tomas Klempa scored at 11:47 as the Bees scored their fourth goal of the game. Klempa came in on a two-on-one with Dan Gendur, Klempa took the puck low before driving to the slot and beating LeMay glove side with LeMay down in the butterfly.
The Americans would get a goal back before the horn would sound to end the period. While on the power-play Kip Brennan deflected a Colton Yellow Horn shot from the point past Juliano Pagliero. It would be the Americans only goal of the game.
After two periods of play both goalies had made 15 saves, though Juliano Pagliero had only seen 16 shots while Adrien LeMay had seen 19.
