Fort Wayne, IN. | Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 -- The Komets repelled the IceMen Sunday 2-0 before 7,089 Fort Wayne fans at the Memorial Coliseum. First star of the game Kevin Reiter snagged his second shutout in as many nights on 28 saves and extended his personal win streak to five games.
Derek Patrosso opened the scoring at 7:33 of the first period short-handed and Mathieu Curadeau netted his fifth power play tally of the season at 16:53 and added an assist for a two-point night in the Komets' 21st win of the season.
Evansville's Jeff Harvey registered his third loss of the season making 32 saves and earned third star honors.
The Komets improve to 21-19-5 and 47 points with their 11th home win of the season and pad their lead over the last-place IceMen to nine points as Evansville falls to 16-24-6 for 38 points.
The Komets get ready for another busy week ahead with four games in five nights. The K's travel to Bloomington Wednesday, return home to welcome Dayton Friday for an 8pm faceoff and then get back on the road to Quad City Saturday. The Komets will host Dayton for another 5pm matinee home tilt next Sunday.
