Madison Mallards News Release

After a thrilling walk-off victory a night ago, the Mallards (13-6) will look for their fifth straight victory this evening, as they travel to Green Bay to take on the Bullfrogs (6-13).

The Mallards will throw Patrick Boyle (Drew University), who is making his fourth start of the season. The left-hander is 1-1 with a 5.18 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched. He will look to get back on track following a short outing against the Rafters.

Green Bay will hand the ball to Austin Hancock (Lenoir Rhyne), who has enjoyed a great 2016 thus far. Though he hasn't yet earned a win, Hancock has struck out 19 and posted a 1.12 ERA in 16 innings of work.

Nate Palace (Valparaiso) will look to extend his hitting streak to eight games in this contest, as Palace's one out double in the ninth last night set up the walk-off victory. Sam Armstrong (Jacksonville) will also eye a streak extension, as he's reached base in every game he has appeared in this season.

The Mallards will return to the Duck Pond on Tuesday, June 21st after enjoying their first off day of the 2016 season on Monday. Tuesday's game will feature Alliant Energy STEM Night with a science fair. Make Music Madison Night will also be on Tuesday, with live in-stadium boomwhackers with performance by Sunspot. Prior to the game, UW Health Sports Medicine will be providing a healthy off-speed pitching mechanics baseball clinic from 9 am to 12 pm. Cost is $40 for kids ages 8-16. Tickets for the game are available for purchase by visiting MallardsBaseball.com, calling the Mallards ticket office at 608-246-4277, or stopping in the ticket office at 2920 N Sherman Ave.
