Mallards, "Between the Pipes" Return to Mediacom's MC22

MOLINE, Ill. (October 13, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced in conjunction with Mediacom that "Between the Pipes", the Mallards' weekly wrap-up show, will return to Mediacom's MC22 channel for the 2011-12 season.

This season will bring a new format for "Between the Pipes". Each week, Mallards coach and general manager David Bell will join Flock director of communications and broadcasting Brian Lavelle for a half hour packed with highlights, previews, analysis, commentary and Mallards news. Each episode will also feature a guest appearance by a Mallards player. The season premiere of "Between the Pipes" will air Friday, November 4 at 2:30 p.m.

"We are certainly looking forward to working with the Mallards again this season and we're especially excited about the new format for "Between the Pipes", which should provide everything Quad Cities sports fans need to know about the Mallards every week in a half hour package," said Mediacom Quad Cities production manager Fred Klauke. "'Between the Pipes' and the Mallards are a key element in our slate of local, exclusive programming that we are happy to have back in place."

The initial weekly Friday airing of "Between the Pipes" will be followed by a series of rebroadcasts each week throughout the season. Full weekly listings of "Between the Pipes" broadcast times can be found throughout the season at www.mc22.net.

"We are very happy to be gearing up to put together another great season of 'Between the Pipes' with Mediacom," said Lavelle. "The chance to work together with Coach Bell to provide viewers with a complete, in depth- and fun- weekly look at the Mallards is a challenge we are excited about taking on."

The Mallards will see their first preseason action this weekend when the Ice Breaker comes to the i wireless Center. The Mallards will meet Evansville at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the opener of a hockey doubleheader- after which the Bloomington PrairieThunder and Missouri Mavericks will close out the twin bill. The Mallards and Mavericks will meet the following afternoon at 2:00 p.m. after taking part in a combined open practice at 12:30 p.m.

The Mallards will open their second CHL regular season on home ice on Saturday night, October 22 at 7:05 p.m. against the Rapid City Rush. The Flock's 2011-12 schedule features 33 home games, including 25 weekend dates. 2011-12 season tickets are now on sale- season ticket holders receive significant savings and a host of exclusive benefits. Single game tickets are also available at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days other than Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. On Sundays on which the Mallards play at home the ticket office will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets will be available for $12 in the upper level and $17 in the lower level.
