Mallards Add Three from West Coast

The Madison Mallards have signed three players from the West Coast, adding Ty Pennington (University of Nevada - Reno), Andrew Snow (Arizona State University) and Cameron Frost (Washington State University) to the roster.

Pennington, a 6'0," 175-pound junior from Tucson, Arizona, is currently in his junior season at Nevada-Reno. In 22.2 innings of work, Pennington has struck out 12 and produced a 3-0 record.

Prior to arriving at Nevada-Reno, Pennington played two seasons at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas, where he worked a 3.01 ERA. He helped lead his team to a conference title in his sophomore campaign.

Pennington was also a four-year letter winner while at Sabino High School. The righty was the owner of a 1.46 ERA across his career on the mound, while adding a .340 batting average and 50 RBIs at the plate.

Snow, a 6'1," 177-pound infielder from Woodland, California, is currently in his second season at Arizona State. Snow has started at 42 of the 43 games for the Sun Devils, batting .292 with 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

As a freshman, Snow earned All-Pac 12 honorable mention with a .300 batting average and 24 RBIs in 140 at-bats. He started 40 of the team's 48 games at second base.

Snow attended Jesuit High School in Sacramento, California, where he earned All-League honors as a senior.

Frost, a 6'2," 200-pound outfielder from Olympia, Washington, will be returning to the Mallards after representing the team last summer. Currently in his junior season at Washington State, Frost is hitting .231 and is second on the team in home runs (3). He has started 42 of the Cougars' 46 games.

In his sophomore campaign, Frost made 50 appearances with 36 starts, hitting .221 with 25 RBIs.

As a freshman, Frost appeared in 38 games for the Cougars, where he hit .226 over 31 at-bats. Frost was also perfect in the field, posting a fielding percentage of 1.000.

Frost was a four-year letter winner while at Olympia High School, earning an all-league selection as a senior. He was selected to play in the Perfect Game World Series, where they ranked him as the third best outfielder in the state of Washington entering college.

The Mallards will host their home opener on Friday, June 3rd when they take on the new Northwoods League affiliate Rockford Rivets. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
