Quad City Mallards News Release

Moline, IL – The Quad City Mallards clinched their third straight Tarry Cup with a convincing 5-1 win over Flint, Friday night at The MARK of the Quad Cities. Patrick Nadeau scored his fourth career hat trick, while Hugo Proulx had three assists, extending his point streak to 14 games.

The Tarry Cup is awarded to the team with the best regular season record. The Mallards' 52nd win gives them 106 points for the season. While Elmira could also get to 106, the Jackals can not match the Quad City win total, which is the first tiebreaker. The Tarry Cup winner also gets home ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

Next on the Mallards' agenda is the all-time wins record of 55, which Quad City has accomplished twice (including last season) and Flint once. Four wins in the final six games would give this year's team the record to themselves at 56.

In addition to the performances by Nadeau and Proulx, Sanny Lindstrom had a three-point night with a goal and two assists, and Joe Dimaline nailed down his 36th win of the season, making 28 saves.

The Mallards visit the Missouri River Otters Saturday, with a 7:15 p.m. face off in St. Charles, MO. The game will air live on WOC TalkRadio 1420, with the pregame show beginning at 6:45 p.m. Quad City plays host to the Kalamazoo Wings, Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available at The MARK box office, at all Ticketmaster locations in the Quad Cities, by phone at (563) 326-1111, and online at ticektmaster.com.
