
Makowski Named CCM Defensive Player Of The Week

On Monday the United States Hockey League announced that Green Bay defenseman David Makowski had been named the league's CCM Defensive Player of the Week.
Makowski recorded a goal in each of the Gamblers' two weekend victories, extending the team's win streak to eight games. He capped the scoring with a shorthanded tally in the 3-1 win over Team USA on Friday. The 20-year-old from Wildwood, Missouri then scored the game-winning goal in the 6-1 victory over Team USA on Saturday. The defenseman has scored a goal in three straight games, two of which have been game-winners. It is the third weekly USHL honor this season for Makowski who ranks second among League defenseman in scoring with 26 points (13g, 13a) in 29 games.
The weekly honor comes on the heels of Makowski being named to the USHL Eastern Division All Star team. The all star nomination is his second in as many years.
