Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release

TORONTO, ON (June 8, 2006) - From a community perspective, this weekend will be a busy one for the Majors. Over the next four days, Majors players, the interactive half-rink and Mikey will all lend their services to local initiatives.

In terms of schools, Mikey will be taking part in McMurrich Junior Public School's Fun Fair this afternoon. The Majors donated a package for the event's silent auction and Mikey will be signing autographs for those on-hand. Then, Mikey will be back in action at the Dovercourt Junior Public School's Spring Fling from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m on Saturday afternoon.

Also, for the third straight year, the Majors will be participating in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association's Consumer Show this weekend at the Sheraton Parkway North in Richmond Hill. The team will have a booth in the Kids Kraze Zone among the dozens of hockey exhibitors taking part. Defenceman Rob Kwiet will be signing autographs tomorrow (Friday) evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Justin DiBenedetto and Matt Halischuk will be on-hand from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Finally, the Majors interactive half-rink will be present at the Canadian Diabetes Association's 5K Dare to Care on Sunday (June 11th). This event is taking place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Woodbine Park at Ashbridges Bay.
