Majors Attempt to Inject Offence Through Trade

TORONTO, ON – In an effort to try to add some offensive punch to their lineup, the Majors have made a trade with the London Knights. Coming to the Majors is forward Alexei Ivanov and going to the Knights are 4th Round and 7th Round picks in the 2005 and 2006 OHL Priority Selections, respectively.

Ivanov is a 5'9", 175 lb. centreman that was born on January 5, 1985. He was the Knights 2nd Round pick in the 2004 CHL Import Draft (72nd overall) and was the Chicago Blackhawks 5th Round selection in the 2003 NHL Draft (156th overall). The native of Tynda, Russia spent the 2002-03 season with the Yaroslavl Junior club and last season with UFA Salavat Yulayev. So far this season, he had contributed two points and six penalty minutes in twelve games with the Knights. He is a left-hand shot.

The Majors travel to Erie, Pennsylvania for a 7:30 pm puck drop with the Otters on Friday evening (November 5th). Then, they return home to tangle with the undefeated Knights on Sunday, November 7th at 2:00 pm. The latter tilt will be available on Rogers television in the Toronto region (channel 10 or 63) while both will be webcast at www.stmichaelsmajors.com.
