Toronto, Ont. (September 7, 2006) - The St. Michael's Majors hosted their first exhibition game of the season this evening at Markham's Centennial Centre. It was an entertaining affair that saw them battle the Erie Otters to a 4-4 tie.

The Majors 3-1 and 4-3 leads were erased before a scoreless 3rd period produced the final result. All four Majors goals came on the power-play while the Otters connected twice with the man-advantage and once shorthanded. The Majors goalscorers were Kaspars Daugavins, Micheal Haley, Nick Ciampini and Matt Caria while Daugavins, Tim Billingsley (2), Troy Murray, Dylan O'Neil, Steve Spade and Anthony Tapper collected the assists.

Wayne Savage played nearly the full 60 minutes between the pipes for the Majors, grabbing 23 saves to Mark Kubicz's 2. The two teams combined for 26 power-plays.

The Majors get back at it tomorrow (Friday, September 8) evening when they travel to Erie for a 7:30 pm tilt. Then, they return home to the St. Michael's College School Arena for a 2 pm game against the Peterborough Petes on Sunday afternoon (September 10). Tickets for all Majors home exhibition games will be $5 and can be purchased at the door or in the team's head office during regular business hours.
