NEW YORK - Major League Soccer launched today the third season of the digital series "The Movement," presented by AT&T. Hosted by former Houston Dynamo and Chicago Fire forward Calen Carr, the series showcases the growth and impact of soccer and soccer culture in North America by highlighting unique and compelling stories that celebrate the diversity of Major League Soccer.
The 2018 series, featuring eight episodes, will debut a new episode every Thursday for the next four weeks (May 17 - June 7) and then resume after the FIFA World Cup for four consecutive weeks starting August 2.
"My greatest memories from playing in MLS are from connecting with teammates from all over the world," Carr said. "MLS has been my community for 13 years now...meeting people from different places, races, religions, and ethnicities - all working together to build towards a common goal. That is something I think we all can learn from."
Season 3 kicks off in England and Wales as Carr travels to the UK to discover how MLS is gaining respect through former MLS players, media coverage and a growing local fan community.
Carr heads to Boston for episode two to take in eMLS, the new competitive gaming league for EA SPORTS FIFA 18. He looks at how EA SPORTS FIFA is fundamentally changing how fans interact with all facets of the game.
For episode three, Carr heads to Hawaii to see how the search for elite soccer talent is stretching beyond the mainland. He discovers a unique soccer culture and visits Brian Ching - former Dynamo teammate and the only Hawaiian man to make it to the World Cup.
On June 7, Carr tells the story of the Mexican National Team and its myriad of connections with MLS, including a conversation with Mexican National Team Head Coach and Carr's former Chicago Fire Head Coach, Juan Carlos Osorio.
The content for the second half of the series will be based on emerging storylines from Major League Soccer in the months ahead. To tune in to "The Movement" presented by AT&T visit www.mlssoccer.com/TheMovement. For a full schedule, see below.
