MAINEiacs Breast Cancer Awareness Night Is Saturday

LEWISTON, ME --

The Lewiston MAINEiacs and the Mid Coast Hospital are once again partnering for the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night this Saturday night when the MAINEiacs play host to the Drummondville Voltigeurs. The fundraising event will take place at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

This year's event is expected to be better than ever, with exciting new features. "Pink in the Rink" will take on a whole new meaning, as the MAINEiacs will be playing on a pink ice surface! In addition to the pink ice, there are many other great features for Saturday's game:

- The MAINEiacs will be wearing special pink Jerseys, which will be auctioned.

- "Stick it to Breast Cancer" Both MAINEiacs goaltenders will use pink goalie sticks in the pregame warm up. MAINEiacs defenseman and Lewiston native Eric Bonawitz will use a pink stick as well. All three sticks will be auctioned off.

- Also being auctioned off, is a specially designed mask donated by East Coast Sign and Design (Pictured above), which will be worn by MAINEiacs goaltender Adrien Lemay, to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.

- The first 700 women to enter the arena will receive a free carnation/flower.

- Breast cancer survivors will be recognized prior to the game.

- Fans are encouraged to wear pink, and will have the opportunity to make donations to the American Cancer Society at the game.

- Q97 deejay Rob Steele will be on hand as the guest MC.

- A tailgate has been planned by fans in the Colisee parking lot on Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The proceeds for the jerseys, goalie mask, and all three pink sticks will go to the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk on Sunday, October 18 in Brunswick.
