
MAINEiacs acquire Guillaume Durand from Shawinigan for David Taylor

Lewiston, ME - Today the Lewiston MAINEiacs announced that they have acquired defenseman Guillaume Durand from the Shawinigan Cataractes for David Taylor. The announcement was made by Head Coach and General Manager Ed Harding.
Durand was drafted by Shawinigan in the first round of the 2004 QMJHL draft. The Dayton, Ohio native played for Shawinigan for the past four seasons until he was taken off the 2007-2008 roster earlier this year. Last year Durand had 4 goals and 15 assists in 67 regular season games for the Cataractes. In the 2007 QMJHL playoffs Durand had 3 assists in four games played. Shawinigan lost in the first round to Lewiston.
David Taylor played 26 games this year for Lewiston before returning to Quebec to play for the AAA Granby Inouk. Taylor notched 6 goals and 9 assists for the MAINEiacs this season. In his last game in a MAINEiacs uniform, Taylor scored 2 goals and had 2 assists against Halifax on December 5.
