Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
LEWISTON, ME -- The Lewiston MAINEiacs and the GDI Hockey (Goaltender Development Institute) are proud to announce the launch of the first ever elite goaltending program in the state of Maine.
Over the past 15 years GDI has grown into the largest and most successful goaltending group in the world. GDI has produced and trained more NHL goaltenders than any other goaltending group.
The MAINEiacs/GDI partnership will officially commence with the launch of the 2009-2010 MAINEiacs Goaltending Clinics hosted by the Lewiston MAINEiacs at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee arena in Lewiston, Maine.
The MAINEiacs Goaltending Clinics are designed as a continuous and progressive in-season development format featuring 7 on-ice sessions (1 session a month) beginning September 20th and ending March 6th. All on-ice sessions utilize a progressive on-ice curriculum and low goaltender to coach ratio to maximize personal attention and development.
Reg Bourcier, Goaltending Coach for the Lewiston MAINEiacs, and GDI New Brunswick manager, will be the head goaltending instructor for the Winter Curriculum program. Additional guest goaltending coaches will be making appearances throughout the sessions. Special appearances from current MAINEiac goaltenders will also be happening throughout the sessions.
There will be 2 separate goaltending programs available with training curriculums designed specifically for each skill and age level.
