
Mahfouz Named Sons of Hockey Star of the Week

Syracuse, NY - The Federal Hockey League announced today that Port Huron Prowlers forward Ahmed Mahfouz has been selected as the Sons of Hockey Star of the Week for the period ending Dec. 6, 2015.
Mahfouz tallied two goals and seven assists for nine points in two weekend games, helping the Prowlers split the weekend.
Mahfouz recorded a season tying three assists on Friday night and also added a goal in a 8-5 loss to the Berlin River Drivers. Ahmed's offense wouldn't end there as he continued on Saturday night in Danbury recording one goal and a new season high four assists in a 6-5 win over the Danbury Titans.
A 26-year-old native of Ottawa, Ontario, Mahfouz leads the FHL in scoring with 26 points, giving him 8 goals and 18 assists in 9 regular-season games.
Mahfouz was named the FHL's MVP in 2013 and 2012 and has won the FHL scoring title the last two seasons.
Mahfouz is the second Port Huron Prowlers player to be named Sons of Hockey Star of the Week after Jared Hicks (Nov. 13-15).
