Magic Take Home Much Needed Win in Halifax

March 27, 2018 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Moncton Magic News Release

The Moncton Magic traveled to Halifax Tuesday night for their last regular season game against the Hurricanes. This marked another important matchup, as the two teams will more than likely end up fighting for the division title, and a shot at the championship.

Somewhat what of a playoff preview took place as both teams fought hard, testing their respective offensive talent. Halifax took the initial lead ending the 1st quarter 25-29, after which the Magic came back going up 49-46 at half, building still in the 3rd up 3 more, then running away in the 4th, winning the contest 107-95.

Corey Allmond dominated for the Magic, once again shooting with very hot hands from the three-point line. He finished at 9/14 from the long ball, with a few steals, assists, and blocks, and 34 total points; a performance that earned him an undisputed Player of the Game nod.

Always-a-factor Terry Thomas wasn't too far behind with 9 rebounds and 24 points. Juan Pattillo had 8 rebounds and 14 points, while Anthony Anderson nearly teased out a triple-double, with a 7-rebound, 9-assist, 10-points spread.

Antoine Mason and Tyrone attempted to create a competitive offense for the home team, but couldn't seem to get the shooting percentage; they had 25 and 20 respectively. Billy White was hugely involved, but missed 75% of his shots despite a 15 rebound, 12-point double-double.

The Magic now head to Saint John to play their 506-rivals March 29th, before retuning home to host the Riptide again for their last regular season game of the season, Saturday March 31st 7:00pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
