
Magic set for opener

McALLEN, Texas---- The Rio Grande Valley Magic has set their roster as they will face new opponents in inaugural Lone Star Football League. Some of the names are from last season's team that made the playoffs while playing in the Southern Indoor Football League.
Some of the members of this season's team include: quarterback Billy Garza, kicker Leo Araguz, wide-receivers Travis McAlpine and Danny Young, defensive back Humberto Cerda, and linemen: Bradley Deary, Anthony Fitzgerald, Brian Ellis, and Diego Saenz.
The new faces on the team for this season include: Eric Childs of Kansas State, Antwan Cobb and Malcolm Williams both played at the University of Texas and Marcel Douglas from Florida International University. Other new players include: Reshaun Jones, Lawrence Perry, and Karl Pope.
The Magic will start their inaugural season in the Lone Star Football League against the Laredo Rattlesnakes on Monday night April 2, 2012 at the State Farm Arena with the kickoff set for 7:05 p.m. The team will wear purple jerseys that will benefit the March of Dimes Foundation on opening night. The jerseys will be auctioned off at the end of the game with all proceeds going to the March of Dimes Foundations.
