Magic End Season with a Win

The Moncton Magic hosted the Saint John Riptide Saturday night for their last regular season game. These two teams have been battling it out in NB since the beginning, most recently with SJ winning on Thursday, and will likely play each other in the first round of the playoffs.
Moncton entered with some unstoppable energy and defensive pressure, besting the visiting Saint John team 27-12 in the 1st. The Riptide mounted a comeback in the 2nd and dropped the lead to two, but were halted back in the 4th by some extremely quick play on both ends by the Magic. That push led Moncton to a 24-point lead at its highest, and the 93-82 victory.
Juan Pattillo set the team in motion off the start, dropping 10 points in the 1st and finishing with 14. Terry Thomas led the box score for the Magic and kept up the offensive momentum; he finished with 6 rebounds, an assist, and 24 points, earning him Player of the Game for the NB showdown.
Anthony Anderson struggled with shot opportunities but created offensive direction for the home team with his 6 assists. Marvell Waithe and Jason Calliste grabbed 10 points each; Denzell Taylor led in boards with 10.
Malcolm Miller did his best to keep the Riptide in it and was at the center of their midgame comeback, leaving with 18 points. Horace Wormley and Marvin Binney had 10 each for the visitors.
With the end of the regular season the Magic now look to the first round of the playoffs where they sit in 2nd. Their opponent is currently undetermined, as Saint John and Charlottetown haven't solidified 2nd and 3rd.
