Magic End Busy Week in the Community

MCALLEN, Texas---- As they get ready to start their first season in the Lone Star Football League, the Rio Grande Valley Magic were busy off the field this week after making community appearances in four days.

On Saturday, Assistant Coaches Steve Jondreau and Tom Shawhan, players Jose Arellano, Nick Aranda, Randy Enriquez, Travis McAlpine, Danny Young, Juan Villapando, and Homer Saenz along with the team cheerleaders and Kazaam the Ocelot all visited Border Fest in Hidalgo to participate in the morning parade, sign autographs, meet and greet with fans.

To close out the busy week, Head Coach Schuyler "Skyler" Anderson, Coach Shawhan, players Billy Garza, Diego Saenz, Danny Young, Jose Arellano, and Juan Villapando, also local sponsor Kidiatric Therapy Services each appeared at the McAllen Main Library in McAllen to sign autographs and interacted with the kids that were in attendance.

It was also announced that the RGV Magic would wear Purple Jerseys in benefit of the March of Dimes campaign in their first game against the Laredo Rattlesnakes. The jerseys will be auction off after the game with all the proceeds benefitting the March of Dimes.

The Magic will start their inaugural season in the Lone Star Football League against the Laredo Rattlesnakes on Monday night April 2, 2012 at the State Farm Arena with the kickoff set for 7:05 p.m. Season and individual tickets are available by calling (956) 789-1644.

The Magic are members of the Lone Star Football League, an independent league of seven professional indoor football teams located in Texas that include Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Odessa, Abilene, and Houston.
