Indiana Mad Ants News Release
Fort Wayne, IN (April 17th, 2012) - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that they are opening the search for the head coaching position for the 2012-13 season. Steve Gansey, interim head coach from this past season, will be one of the candidates for the position.
"Steve stepped in and did a very credible job this past season, and he has been a tremendous part of our program the past three seasons," said Mad Ants president Jeff Potter. "With that said, we did not see the results any of us had hoped, and that is the reason we are going to open our head coaching position up to potential candidates, including Steve. We want to make sure that we leave no stone unturned in getting the very best coach for the Mad Ants and our fans."
The Mad Ants finished the 2011-12 season with a 14-36 record. Gansey took over the team 15 games into the season after Joey Meyer was relieved of his head coaching duties and finished the season with a 9-26 record.
