Dennis Johnson nominated to the 2008 Hall of Fame.Macon's TV and newpapers media awarded ABA execs of the Year for coverage of the Gwizzlies.All 330 pounds of Charlie Ludwig is okay by the doctors to play.The Gwizzlies organization sign a new 5 year deal with the Centreplex.WMAZ-13 station and the Gwizzlies enter into a contract to cover all the home games in 2008-09.Former ABA coach,now NBA coach Reggie Theus take the time to visit with his longtime friend and their team,Embry Malone,when his NBA team play the Atlanta Hawks in February.Phil Oliver,an Atlanta basketball guru gets his buddies Theo Ratliff,Mike Glenn involved in the minors again.That the ABA All-Star game and ABA Championship game is played in Macon.David Archer,the "Wizard of Cartesville",Georgia is granted a franchise in Rome,Georgia.The ABA conducts it's first annual Draft Pool in September 2008.That the Gwizzlies do not stop playing basketball games until 10:35 pm, March 30th in Quebec,Canada.That the C-oolest-E-xecutive-O-n-earth,Joe Newman,email system crash from all the emails he get from former ABA players,coaches,staffers,owners,workers,thanking him for the chance to be in an elite group in American society,pro basketball since the year 2000.
