ABA Saint John Riptide

Millrats Edged By Real Boston

December 22, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Saint John Riptide News Release

Manchester, NH: The Manchester Millrats released guard Charles Easterling on Wednesday. Today he returned to the Fieldhouse in a Boston Blizzard uniform, and helped his new team edge the Millrats 130-127.

Easterling scored 25 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and scored the go ahead three point play on a strong drive to the basket.

Manchester has now stumbled into a three game losing streak, having drop two prior games at Vermont and to Halifax. Their record now stands at 12-4 on the season.

"Boston is a good team, when they have their full roster. Brooks (34 points) played for the Frenzy last year, and new additions Easterling and Marcos Echevarria (22 points) are solid," explained Millrats GM Ian McCarthy.

Rob Sanders scored 26 for the Millrats, and John Huggins added 23. Dave Shaw also scored 25 for Boston.

Manchester travels north after the Holidays looking for revenge against a team that has beaten them twice this season: the Quebec Kebs on Friday night. Then on Sunday, the Millrats host the defending ABA Champion Vermont Frost Heaves at 4:35 at Southern New Hampshire University.
