PEARL, MS -- RHP Kris Medlen has been transferred to Double-A Mississippi from High-A Florida. In corresponding moves, M-Braves LHP Joe Rogers was transferred to Low-A Rome from Mississippi. Medlen, 31, was 1-1 with a 3.97 ERA in two starts with the Fire Frogs since completing his rehab stint and joining the High-A club on May 20. He signed a minor league deal with the Braves on April 1, 2017. In seven Major League seasons (five with Atlanta and two with Kansas City), Medlen has a career record of 41-25 with a 3.25 ERA in 173 appearances. He made his MLB debut with Atlanta on May 21, 2009. The California native was originally selected by the Braves in the 10th round of the 2006 draft out of Santa Ana College. He appeared in three games with the M-Braves at the end of 2007 and was a crucial member of the 2008 club that won the Southern League Championship, going 7-8 with a 3.52 ERA in 36 games that summer. Rogers, 26, was 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA in three relief appearances with the M-Braves this season. He's spent a good deal of time on the disabled list. Rogers already has one outing at Low-A Rome where he worked 2.1 scoreless innings. Last season, Rogers split time between Double-A Erie (1-0, 5.06) and High-A Lakeland (0-1, 5.96). He was originally selected by Detroit in the fifth round of the 2012 draft out of the University of Central Florida. The southpaw was signed by the Braves on March 20, 2017. The Mississippi roster has 25 active players and 4 disabled. SUMMARY DELETE: Joe Rogers ADD: Kris Medlen
