
Lynx Fall to Seattle

The Toronto Lynx continued their USL First Division campaign this evening, dropping a 3-0 result in front of 2 187 fans at Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington.
Seattle took the lead ten minutes in when Sounders striker Welton Melo was brought down just outside Toronto's penalty area. Andrew Gregor took the ensuing free kick, sending his effort in past a sprawling Toronto goalkeeper Theo Zagar. It was 2-0 to Seattle seven minutes later when Gregor's cross was headed home by Seattle striker Roger Levesque from 10 yards out.
It was 3-0 in the 32nd minute when Seattle midfielder CJ Klass was brought down inside Toronto's penalty area. Gregor took the penalty kick and made no mistake from the spot, making it two for him and three for Seattle. It was 3-0 to Seattle at halftime.
Seattle came close to a fourth three minutes into the second interval when Taylor Graham's header came off the crossbar. Toronto's best chance of a goal came in the 82nd minute when Jamie Dodds' one-time shot beat Seattle goalkeeper Preston Burpo, but came off the crossbar. This proved to be the final chance at a goal, and it was 3-0 to Seattle as full time sounded.
Seattle midfielder Andrew Gregoe scored twice and assisted on the other en route to tonight's win. Sounders 'keeper Preston Burpo made two saves towards his league leading nineth shutout of the season.
Tonight's result leaves Toronto (3-10-5) in 12th position in the USL First Division, while Seattle (8-3-6) moves into a three way tie with Rochester and Richmond for second.
Toronto is next in action on July 31st when they host the Richmond Kickers for a 6:00 PM kickoff.
