Augusta Lynx News Release
AUGUSTA, Ga. (June 18, 2008)-The Augusta Lynx have agreed on a new two-year lease with the Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority, Lynx general manager Dan Troutman announced today.
"We are extremely excited to conclude these negotiations and ensure that the Lynx will continue to play in the James Brown Arena," Troutman said. "We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Coliseum Authority for all of their diligence and hard work during these negotiations."
The previous lease between the Lynx and the Coliseum Authority was negotiated before the Lynx' inaugural season in 1998-99, and continued until the conclusion of the club's 10th anniversary season of 2007-08.
Due to the structure of the Coliseum Authority, the maximum length of time the Authority could commit to a lease with the Lynx at the present time is two years.
With a new lease in place, the Lynx are set to open the 2008-09 season on Friday, Oct. 17 as they host the South Carolina Stingrays in a rematch of last year's South Division Kelly Cup Quarterfinals.
Season tickets, group tickets, flex packs, mini plans and small business packages for the 2008-09 season are available now by calling 706.724.4ICE or by logging on to augustalynx.com.
