Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush announced today the organization will play a pair of pre-season games at Germain Arena against the ECHL's Phoenix RoadRunners as preparation for the 2008-09 regular season campaign.

The Everblades and RoadRunners will play games on Friday, October 10, 2008 and Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Germain Arena with both games beginning at 7:30 p.m. The meetings will mark the first time the two clubs will face each other in their histories.

"We are thrilled to be playing the RoadRunners in the pre-season this year." Brush said. "Aside from the games being good, strong warm-ups to the regular season, it's great to give our fans a chance to see a team they've never had an opportunity to see before. Whenever you have two teams playing for the first time in their histories it's exciting and it should be fun to see these two teams face-off."

The two games will also mark the debut of new Everblades head coach Malcolm Cameron and will feature the return of Brad Church to Germain Arena as the head coach of Phoenix. Church played as a member of the Florida Everblades in 2004-05 and helped lead the team to the American Conference Championship that year.

"I'm very excited about the opportunity to return to Florida for what will hopefully be a great experience for both myself and our hockey club," said Church. "The Everblades organization and (General Manager) Craig Brush provided me with some of my fondest memories as a player, and they continue to set the standard for excellence in the ECHL year after year."

Following the two warm-up games, the Everblades will open the 2008-09 regular season at home, when they host the Charlotte Checkers for a pair of games on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18.
