Lynchburg capitalized on three Winston-Salem errors and scored five unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth en route to a 7-4 victory over the Dash on Saturday night at City Stadium. The Hillcats and Dash will meet in the rubber match of the series on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. at Calvin Falwell Field.

Winston-Salem grabbed the early lead by scoring a pair of runs in the top of the first. Dale Mollenhauer singled with two outs in the frame and advanced to third on a double by Brent Morel. Seth Loman drove in both runners with a two-run single off Lynchburg starter Chi-Hung Cheng, giving the Dash a 2-0 advantage.

The Hillcats cut the lead in half in the bottom of the third. Jared Keel hit a leadoff single off Dash starter Gregory Infante, who made his Advanced-A debut Saturday night. After Infante retired Eddie Prasch, Chase d'Arnaud knocked in Keel with an RBI double to make it a 2-1 contest.

The Dash took advantage of a Lynchburg error in the top of the fifth. Mollenhauer hit another two-out single and stole second with Morel at the plate. Morel hit a grounder to short, but d'Arnaud made an errant throw to first and Mollenhauer raced home with the third Winston-Salem run.

Lynchburg answered with a run in the bottom of the frame when Prasch scored on a two-out RBI single by Alex Presley, which reduced the deficit to 3-2.

The Cats seized control of the game thanks to a wild inning in the bottom of the sixth. Matt Hague started the frame with a leadoff single off Dash reliever Hector Santiago and reached second on a throwing error by Mollenhauer. Eric Fryer reached on a fielder's choice, which resulted in a Lynchburg run when Santiago committed a throwing error. Jamie Romak reached on a fielding error when Kent Gerst failed to catch Romak's fly ball to left-center field.

Santiago issued an intentional walk to Jared Keel to load the bases with one out for Prasch, who beat the relay throw to prevent a potential 6-4-3 double play. Fryer scored on the play and d'Arnaud followed with a two-run double that plated Romak and Prasch.

Presley drove in d'Arnaud with an RBI double to give Lynchburg a 7-3 advantage.

Winston-Salem scored a run off Cats reliever Chris Cullen in the top of the seventh, but Cullen and R. J. Rodriguez kept the Dash off the scoreboard in the final two frames. Cullen (4-1) earned the win by tossing three solid innings of relief and Rodriguez worked a scoreless ninth for his 16th save in 17 opportunities. Santiago (2-3) took the loss for Winston-Salem.

The Cats will square off against the Dash in the series finale at 6:05 p.m. Sunday at City Stadium.
