TONIGHT'S OPPONENT (GAME 1): Chad Reineke, 24, is a 6-6, 210-pound right-hander selected by Houston in the 13th round of the 2004 draft out of the University of Miami (OH). The Defiance, Ohio native posted a 10-8 mark with a 3.52 ERA (42 g, 11 gs, 102.1 ip, 84 h, 46 r, 40 er, 49 bb, 108 k) last year with Lexington (A, SAL). In his initial pro campaign, he went 1-2 with a 2.45 ERA (23 g, 0 gs, 36.2 ip, 27 h, 13 r, 10 er, 23 bb, 52 k). In 16 starts this season, he has failed to last 5.0 innings just twice and has gone 7.0 or more innings on six occassions. Reineke earned the win in the Carolina League-California League All-Star game by tossing a scoreless inning in the 6-3 win at Salem Memorial on June 27th...

The Dominican Republic native split last season between Tri-City (A, NYPL) and Lexington (A, SAL) going 3-4 with a 2.95 ERA (20 g, 7 gs, 55.0 ip, 42 h, 23 r, 18 er, 17 bb, 64 k). Prior to this season, he was rated by Baseball America as one of the top 10 prospects in the Houston Astros system. The youngster began his professional playing career in the Venezuelan Summer League in 2002, going 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA...
