TONIGHT'S GAME
The Hillcats continue a six-game homestand with the middle game of a three-game series against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Lynchburg City Stadium. Last night, the Hillcats never trailed in a 4-3 victory over the Pelicans. By winning, the Cats have won consecutive games for the first time since 6/3-6/4 (@ W-S).

⢠Villa, 19, is a 5-10, 160-pound left-hander signed by Atlanta as a non-drafted free agent on 11/8/02. The Dominican Republic native ranked third among Braves minor league relievers with a 1.93 ERA in 2004 with Danville (A, Appy). For the campaign, he went 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA (42.0 ip, 35 h, 15 r, 9 er, 21 bb, 41 k). In his first professional season, he was named co-Pitcher of the Year for the Braves Dominican Summer League team.

2005 SERIES WITH MYRTLE BEACH
Lynchburg leads the season series, 7-3, following their first ever series sweep of the Pelicans, home or away, 4/29-5/1 (away). The Pelicans won the 2004 season series, 14-6. In 2003, the Cats won the series, 13-7 -- marking the first time Lynchburg had ever taken a season series from Myrtle Beach. Overall, the Birds lead the lifetime series, 70-59 (.543) with a 38-28 (.576) edge at Coastal.
DUSEN, DOIN' IT
By winning Friday night, LHP Derrick Van Dusen has won each of his last four starts. Paul Ah Yat set the Hillcats record in 1997 by winning 5 straight starts. That number has been matched three times since by Mike Gonalez (1997), Jeff Bennett (2001) and Mike Connolly (2002). Over his last four games, Van Dusen has hurled 26.0 innings, allowing just five earned runs (1.73 ERA).
