Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Black vs. Gold Scrimmage

Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks will kick off their 2016 preseason camp on February 20th. At the conclusion of camp, they will host their annual Black vs. Gold Scrimmage, presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network. It is the first opportunity fans and media will have to see the Hawks in full pads playing 8 v. 8 style football.
This year's game will be on Saturday, February 27th, from 10:00am-1:00pm. Held at Iron Lakes Sports Club (3625 Shankweiler Rd., Allentown, PA). There will be a short meet and greet after where fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and photographs with the players. Some brand new 2016 Steelhawks merchandise will be on sale as well.
Head Coach Chris Thompson is eager to see what the potential of the great-on-paper roster will be. "This 2016 Steelhawks Camp has us very excited. We have worked very hard putting this group of young men together to come in and compete for the final roster spots and sport the Black and Vegas Gold all season. On paper this could quite be the most experienced and talented group we have ever had but that remains to be seen. We don't have a lot of time to get ready for next week's home opener against Philadelphia Yellow Jackets but this inter squad scrimmage is a great indicator for us on where we are after one week of camp. So, come on out and get your first sneak peak of our 2016 team and meet some of them afterwards."
Everyone is invited out afterward to join the Steelhawks at Vision Bar in the Sands Event Center (77 Sands Blvd Bethlehem, PA) for an end of camp post-game party at 7:30. Drink specials will be available and Chickie's and Pete's inside the Sands Event Center will be open.
Steelhawks training camp sessions are open to the public. All practices are held at Iron Lakes Sports Club. Current schedule is as follows:
Saturday, February 20th 8:15-10:00am
Sunday, February 21st 7:30-9:30pm
Monday, February 22nd 9:00-11:00pm
Tuesday, February 23rd 9:00-11:00pm
Wednesday, February 24th 9:00-11:00pm (following the Season Ticket Holder Pickup Party)
Thursday, February 25th 9:00-11:00pm
Friday, February 26th - Team Dinner at Rascal's Food and Fun
