Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
Center Bryan Lundbohm scored two goals and assisted on one more to lead the Fort Worth Brahmas to a 3-0 win over the Memphis RiverKings in front of 4,711 fans at the Fort Worth Convention Center on Saturday night.
Lundbohm opened the scoring in the game at the 7:01 mark of the first period with a powerplay goal off of assists from Martin Paquet and Chad Woollard. Just over four minutes later, at the 11:52 mark of the first period, the fourth-year center from Roseau, Minnesota redirected a Woollard shot past RiverKings goaltender Daniel Boisclair for his second goal of the game.
After assisting on Lundbohm's two goals, Woollard then lit the lamp himself, his team leading 9th of the season, scoring off of assists from Paquet and Lundbohm at the 15:58 mark of the first period.
Altogether, Fort Worth's top forward line of Lundbohm, Paquet and Woollard combined for eight points on the night. In their last two games played, the trio has totaled 17 points. All three players are currently in the top five in the CHL in scoring.
The early scoring outburst was more than enough for Brahmas goaltender Dan Murphy. The former AHL All Star netminder stopped all 18 RiverKings shots sent his way in the game to earn his fourth win of the season and his first shutout of the year. Boisclair took the loss in net for Memphis, allowing the three Brahmas goals on 41 shots.
The win for the Brahmas (5-2-1) was their second in a row, and their fifth in their last six games. With 11 points on the season, Fort Worth remains in second place in the Northeast Division, one point behind the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The Brahmas do, however, have two games in hand on the Bugs. Fort Worth can move into first place in the divisional standings with a win tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, Nov. 14, when they play the RiverKings again at the FWCC. Sunday's faceoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
