Lumberjacks Add NHL Draft Pick Farinacci to Lineup
October 13, 2020 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON, MI - The Muskegon Lumberjacks have added forward John Farinacci to their roster. Farinacci, a 2019 third-round pick to the Arizona Coyotes, played last year for Harvard University, racking up 22 points in 31 games as a freshman.
Farinacci was drafted by Muskegon in the first round of the 2017 Phase I draft, and John suited up for Muskegon four times, scoring two goals and chipping in an assist in a two-game stint in 2018-2019.
"He's an elite talent," said President of Hockey Operations Steve Lowe. "We will help John work toward his goal of making the U20 World Junior team this year. Without question, he will be one of the most exciting players to watch in the USHL this season."
"Anytime you can add a player of his caliber to our team, you're excited," said Head Coach Mike Hamilton. "We have history with him- he was twice called up as an affiliate, and was with us during our playoff run two seasons ago, despite battling an injury that kept him off the ice."
"We are really excited to add him to our lineup," said Hamilton. "He is a huge asset on the ice and maybe more importantly, from a leadership standpoint. He will be a great leader and mentor in our locker room."
Farinacci and the Lumberjacks kick off their preseason slate this Friday at home against Team USA.
