Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

P.K. O'Handley's Irish eyes were smiling Saturday night as his green-jersey-clad Waterloo Black Hawks downed the Sioux Falls Stampede 3-1.

The Hawks led nearly the entire way after Brett Olson scored 2:16 into the game. The score remained 1-0 until 7:57 of the third period when Billy Maday batted in a powerplay rebound. James Marcou made it 3-0 three-and-a-half minutes later after pulling a puck off the boards and cutting to the net. Sioux Falls scored with 2:21 remaining and finished the game with their net empty, but Matt DiGirolamo slammed the door on the rest of the Stampede chances, making 23 saves in the win.

The Hawks are off until Saturday when the Sioux City Musketeers visit Young Arena. During the game, play Lincoln Savings Bank "Deal or No Deal," and afterwards "Skate with the Hawks."
