Charleston Lowgators News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (November 28) â The North Charleston Lowgators of the NBDL teamed up with Crisis Ministries of Charleston to serve Thanksgiving dinner to those in need on Thursday night.
Crisis Ministries, the largest shelter in South Carolina, opened in 1984. It is an independent, non-profit organization that provides a safe and clean place to sleep, serves a nutritious hot lunch to anyone who needs it, operates a free clinic for primary health care, offers mental health and job counseling, and assists guests in moving beyond the shelter into independent living.
Lowgators forward Thaddeous Delaney said, "Thanksgiving is a time for thanks and we felt like it's our duty to give back to the community. There are a lot of people that are less fortunate out there and we wanted to do something to help."
The Lowgators will not have much time to enjoy leftovers, as they host the Asheville Altitude on Friday night at 7 p.m. The first 500 people through the gates at the North Charleston Coliseum will receive a Lowgators water bottle.
The North Charleston Lowgators experience provides exciting basketball action and offers affordable family fun. Tickets are only $7.50 for children and seniors, $10 for students and the military, and $13 for adults. Good seats are still available at the Coliseum box office or local Ticketmaster Outlets. Call (843) 460-1000 for more information.
